The monolithic process refers to the use of a cylindrical forged aluminum alloy raw material, which is rotated and extruded into a "concave" body, and then the spokes are hollowed out on the CNC center, and a lot of waste is cut off during the processing. , So the cost is the highest of the three rims. Therefore, single-piece forged wheels require high technology and materials, and generally large factories with little capacity support cannot do it.
Generally speaking, the wheel hub can be classified according to the structure: one-piece type, multi-piece type (two-piece type and three-piece type).
One piece, as the name suggests, the entire wheel hub is a whole.
There are two main processes for one-piece forged wheels:
1. Forming forging (also called die forging), after forging, the shape of the wheel hub has been basically formed. It can greatly save the processing time of the product. The disadvantage is that the early mold investment is high. The famous BBS forged wheels adopt this process.
2. Milling and forging, that is, buying ready-made forged wheel blanks and then milling and processing the wheel shape through CNC (Numerical Control Machining Center).
Two-piece forged wheel hub: 2 components, composed of two parts, the rim and the spoke.
Three-piece forged wheel hub: 3 components, the rim part of the three-piece wheel hub is composed of two parts: the front piece and the back piece. Therefore, the three-piece wheel hub is composed of three parts: the front piece, the back piece and the spokes.

There are currently two main ways to connect multi-piece forged wheels with spokes and rims: one is special bolt/nut connection; the other is welding. The case in this article is the first method of bolt connection. The bolts used are 24K gold-plated SRR bolts.

Multi-piece wheel
Advantages: 1. The rim part can be shared, it is convenient to change the shape, only need to change the middle plate of different styles;
2. Through different sizes of rims and spokes, a variety of wheel specifications can be matched and combined to meet individual needs;
3. Since the rim and the middle plate are detachable, it is convenient to use the complicated surface treatment process, and the shape is more varied.
Disadvantages: 1. The weight is heavier than the one-piece type;
2. The dynamic balance is not as good as the one-piece type;
3. Considering the tightness, the requirements for assembly are high.
